Our star players Sagar Sharma and Mohd. Jaffer Mansoori rallied for Team MDFA to win the Runner Up title. Both the players were influential in teams Dream run in the tournament, missing out on the top honours to Pune in penalties. Mohd. Jaffer Mansoori was on the score sheets scoring 2 important goals during the tournament, one against Pune in the finals and earlier against Palghar.
While out players represented Mumbai District FA, our Thane Youth Development Head coach Sathyanathan Hiriyan was part of the Thane District FA contingent as the team Manager. The team reached knock out stage on the basis of strong performance but failed to qualify ahead. Nagpur rose to the occasion as they beat the in-form Thane in the Quarterfinal. Stand-in goalkeeper for Nagpur Nitin Gupta saved a late spot-kick to send Thane tumbling.
