A week at Rush 14th to 21st May

The uncertain football season in Mumbai finally took off after a two-year break. The association’s decision to conduct a full ten-month season in 4 months is welcome news. But it is certainly challenging not only to the association but also to the players and the club, especially considering the record heat levels and the fitness layoff during the last two years.

While our players are raising the heat on the field, special attention is required for the player’s hydration, nutrition, rest, and recovery. This season India Rush SC has added one more team to Mumbai’s top league – Premier Elite Division. This season, India Rush SC has completed the pyramid for player development from bottom to top, both for men and women.

The week that was 14th May to 21st May

It was a mixed bag in terms of results, it started with an excellent performance by our U10 winning the Title unbeaten in a 8 team Get Set Play soccer League. It was followed by heartbreaking loss for our Women’s team against Mumbai Knights after leading the game for 70+4 min only to lose out in the time extended beyond the injury time and a howler by the line’s man. We feel it was controversial and indeed rued having not recorded this match.

The narrow loss for the Men’s Elite division team against PIFA was certainly not on the card. The Team though made it up beating the 2nd placed team GM FC

A stunning performance by the Men’s First division team scoring a sixer indeed started the winning run. It was followed by a solid performance by Men’s First division team – Steadfast FC. The week is rounded up by a spectacular win by the Women’s team against PIFA FC.

Yet again two of our rising stars Sakshi Repe and Gaia Ferro made the cut for the Mumbai team for the WIFA Inter District U-17 Girls Tournament. The team Mumbai beat Yavatmal by 3-0 powered by a brace from Gaia to storm in the Quater Final. The team beat Satara to make it to the semi finals, losing out to the eventual champions Kolhapur. India Rush SC is empowering women's football since 2016, with strong plans for the future.

The last two years have been challenging to keep the club running and providing a consistent platform for our player’s development and growth. The financial constraints and lack of sufficient sponsorship while having to live up to everyone's expectations have not been easy. All our efforts though have been with the best intention of players and the club’s development.

We are thankful for the player’s and parents' trust in the club's values and the management. We request your continued support and do patronize our Sponsors.
