India Rush SC win 3rd place title at MDFA Women's League

Football is a game of planning, practice and perseverance, the success of India Rush SC women's team too is a result of Long term planning. From becoming the Maharashtra Champion's in 2017/18 (Read:  Proud to Play like Girl) to becoming the 1st team from Maharashtra to qualify in the IWL finals, India Rush SC has made it's intent clear in it's support of Indian football in all quarters. 

The MDFA Women's League 2018/19 has been the phase II for developing home grown talent supported by experienced players and the strategy has show awesome results. 

27th Feb '19: India Rush SC Vs Bombay Gymkhana

 Another easy win for India Rush SC, as the girls cruised to a 3-0 win against Bombay Gymkhana. Thanks to a brace from Alisha Tavares and one more goals by Riya Sukhdeve helped the team seize all 3 points.

14th March '19: India Rush SC Vs PIFA (Quarter Final)

A much reinforced PIFA was shown the door by the India Rush SC girls. The girls in blue ended PIFA FC run in the Quarter final match of the league. At FT the match was on level score at 2-2, with a goal each by our players Rachel D'costa and Velanie Fernandes. Going into the tiebreaker, India Rush SC girl’s held their nerve scoring 2 goals to 1 to end PIFA’s dream.

19th March '19: India Rush SC Vs FSI (Semi Final)

The Girl’s in blue started the game with a strong intent and was rewarded in the 25th min goal by Quincy D'Souza. The game ended in favor of India Rush SC at the lemon break. Not to be outdone, the FSI team having a reinforced team scored in the 40th min to neutralize the lead. The attack and counter attack for getting a result in the regulation time showcased the best both teams had to offer.

The tie breaker is always a nervous moment, Priya Sukhadeve, Riya Sukhadeve, Christina Michael, Laura Estiberio, Alisha Tavares were on target but were outdone in the run up to the maiden Title.

4th April '19: India Rush SC Vs Future Star (3rd Place)

The 3rd place match was finally scheduled on 4th April’19, after nearly two weeks of uncertainty due to perennial disruptors of football development who claim to be holier-than-thou. Without giving undue importance to such incidents, the India Rush SC team was roaring to go for the much deserved podium finish. The earlier league encounter against Future Star had ended in the only draw and drop of points for the home team testing its bench strength.

While the match was looking in favor of India Rush SC the give it all attitude by the Future Star players held the game at 0:0 at the end of the full time.

This was the third tie breaker in as many games for India Rush SC in the KO stages of the League. The Girls in Blue Priya Sukhdeve, Rachel D’Costa, Riya Sukhdeve scored the only goals, while India Rush SC Custodian kept a clean sheet to claim the match and the honors.
